Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Evangelization/Outreach Committee will be reaching out and offering our help to the unfortunate members of our church community, who are in need of a hot, delicious meal and a family setting on Thanksgiving day. The serving of delicious Thanksgiving Day meals at SFDS will take place on Thursday, November 25, 2010, and we shall need volunteers to assist in the following capacities in the Parish Hall:

1. Kitchen team members (carving precooked turkeys and hams, etc.)
2. Assembly line servers (handing out plates of food) 3. Food preparers (preparing plates of food for shut-in, etc.) 4. Greeters/hosts (making guests feel welcomed; serving punch, desserts, etc.) 5. Clean-up support staff (taking down decorations, tables, cleaning facility, etc.) |

Thanksgiving meals will be served, beginning at 12 noon to 4:30 p.m., and we anticipate a large number of guests this year. (Directions to the Parish Hall will be posted outside.) The decorating committee and Parish Hall set-up teams will meet on Wednesday, November 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (High school and middle school students requesting community service hours for either day will have their forms signed upon completion of service hours.)
Refrigerated food items may be brought to the Parish Hall that Wednesday and placed under refrigeration. Also, you may bring precooked food Thursday morning before noon! Please bring your food items early, so that we have them ready before the arrival of our guests! We will also need adult volunteers with vehicles to help deliver food to "shut-ins" in our community. Information posters will be made available to the community as well as reminder announcements for our parishioners. |

| Also, volunteer and food contribution, sign-up lists will be available at a Special Thanksgiving table in the vestibule of the church. Please include your name, and telephone number, so that we will be know how to reach you regarding additional information. |
